About Legal Advocates for Seniors and People with Disabilities®

Our Mission

The mission of LASPD is to provide low-cost legal services to seniors and people with disabilities who are facing financial hardships and are victims of harassment by unsecured creditors. We are very successful at stopping them from threatening individuals whose income is protected by law.

Our History 

LASPD was organized as a partnership between the Chicago Legal Clinic and Donald Leibsker, an Illinois Attorney, in 2006.  Heartland Financial Services, LLC was hired to administer the program.  Mr. Leibsker is LASPD`s Legal Director and in late 2020 took over full control of LASPD.
